Jointed-Arm Handling
Articulating Arm Devices
Arms with jointed sections, on a column or in a rail system, that carry the load through the work area and reach around obstacles a straight boom has to go around.

- Best for
- High level of maneuverability and avoidance of obstacles
Exact capacity, reach, and work envelope are confirmed during application review.
When It Fits
Is This the Right Family?
Choose an articulating arm when the load has to get past something on its way — a machine frame, a rack, a building column. The arm folds and extends at its joints, so one base covers a work envelope that a straight boom of the same length cannot reach into.
Typical applications
- Serving more than one station from a single column
- Reaching into machines, fixtures, and racks
- Stations where a straight boom cannot clear the obstacles
Not sure which family fits? The comparison in our selection guide walks through the decision by motion type, and our engineers will confirm it against your actual part.
Other Families
Compare the Alternatives
Balancing
Pneumatic Balancers
Pneumatic cable and chain balancers for fast-cycle pick-and-place handling of tools and components across a wide vertical range.
Lifting and Positioning
Lifting Axes
Vertical lifting axes engineered for precise, repeatable positioning in demanding handling stations.
Large-Area Handling
Floor-Guided Systems
Floor-guided carts that cover large work areas with full operator control, for stations where a gantry or a fixed column is not an option.
